Reflection and Takeaway
While working with TAMU at SXSW, I learned a lot about stepping beyond my comfort zone to talk and connect to people. That is how you make relations and really get people to be engaged. At this event, I also learned the importance of perfecting the details of the smaller frames of an event to create the best big picture of an event. Having a proper volunteer orientation for this event was especially important because we had to interact with guests. I think the TAMU SXSW coordination team did an amazing job with giving volunteers specific instructions and information about the event. I knew everything that was going on and I could answer everyone's questions. If I didn't know something, I knew who I could direct them to.

For future events I plan, I have to make sure that all staff and volunteers are adequately well-informed and know what to do in their tasks and beyond their tasks.
