• Distributed maps of the festival to attendees

Purpose of the Event

To showcase local Bryan talents and celebrate two major industries in Texas: beef and wine. It is also to help economically flourish the community.

Reflection and Takeaway

From this experience, I learned that responsibility and trust must be distributed to other team members when planning such a large event such as the Texas Reds Festival. It can be very stressful trying to handle multiple responsibilities all at once when managing an event. Although event planners want things to run perfectly and as smoothly as they planned, there are inevitably some things that will go awry. At this point, the whole event planning team must understand the procedures and proper steps on how to approach the situation. While volunteering at this event, I witnessed a lot of communication between the event planners and others working the event. Communication is key to the success of planning any type of event and I think because there was effective communication and active listening between both parties that the event was such a success.
