• Monitored the pumpkin smashing area to ensure safety and regulation

• Supervised all activities at Kids Zone

Purpose of the Event

To connect the community to nature and the outdoors by providing a wide variety of entertainment people can engage in such as live music, food, interactive activities, and more.

Reflection and Takeaway

Although the event was enjoyable for the attendees and some volunteers on the actual day of the event, some have told me their less than pleasant experiences on set up day. From this service event and what I have heard and witnessed at the event, I learned that showing appreciation and respect to the volunteers/workers is a very important aspect to the success of the event and satisfaction of the attendees. When volunteers and workers feel under-appreciated and disrespected, they will most likely feel upset, wronged and will less likely treat attendees well.
